Vanakkam is the third single from Melbourne Guitar Band, Kumar Shome & The Punkawallahs. The band brings together a sound electric jazz, soul and prog rock comparable to artists such as Thundercat, Butcher brown, Khruangbin and Chon.
Vanakkam is a song about welcoming and unity. The feeling that is given from the music community to the diverse world from Shome's Experience. In Kumar's words "the fresh faces you meet, the exchange of knowledge that's shared, the lifelong bonds built and the power, the inclusion and joy it communicates to all. That sums up the essence of Vanakkam".
